NEWCOMER'S PAGE

Hello (Konnichi wa) and welcome to our blog pages. If you are starting Japanese at our school for the first time or you are starting Japanese anywhere there are a few things you should know. This site is primarily for kids aged 4-11 years old and so alot of the content is aimed at that level. I try to make language learning fun and I hope the site reflects that.
So.... where do you go first???

If you are a Prep Parent, I would go to the parts on the Home Page that are labelled 'Prep' e.g. in the blog archives (left sidebar) or look at the 'Useful Links' section under things labelled 'Prep' or Pre - 6.

If you are just starting Japanese at our school and you're in a grade higher than Prep, then I would start on the HIRAGANA PAGE. Go to the HOME PAGE and in the the left sidebar, there is a section called 'OTHER PAGES IN THIS BLOG', click on the one called 'HIRAGANA' and follow the instructions there. All the pages have the SAME beginning and side parts but have different content in the middle. Hiragana is the first alphabet that we learn in the Junior School and there are step by step instructions on how to memorise it and recognise it.

Also... the 'SPEAKING' page is great for you if you want to hear what Japanese sounds like and learn a few introductory phrases. Once again, go to the left sidebar and click on the page called 'SPEAKING' and follow the instructions on that page.
